The incident took place in Norwalk around 11 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4 in the area of South Main Street and Merritt Street.
Responding officers located a crime scene in the area of South Main Street, but not a victim, said Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake.
A short time later Norwalk dispatch received a call from Norwalk Hospital, who reported that a man suffering from a gunshot wound had just arrived by private vehicle, Blake said.
The victim is a 36-year-old male who suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his legs, he added.
The Detective Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
